Anywhere you decide to go on vacation will have to be up to you, but there are some ways to narrow down where you might want to travel to. First, think about your budget, the time that you have to travel, and how far away from home you want to – and can – go on that. That will narrow things down pretty quickly. Once you’ve created a radius based on that information, you’ll also need to consider things that could affect the way you feel, like the weather and the elevation.
Some people don’t like heat or cold, and others can’t go to high elevations because of health problems. Keep all of that in mind when you’re considering your travel area. Then, consider the kinds of things you like to do. Are you getting away from a rural area with a desire to immerse yourself in the big city? Are you a city dweller who wants to go somewhere quiet, rural and peaceful? Do you have something specific that you really want to do on your trip? Ask yourself those questions and answer them honestly. Then you can decide which areas in your travel radius will give you the options you’re looking for.
If you can’t get everything you want, you can find the closet option and go exploring. Don’t give up, either. There are all kinds of options right in your own backyard. In fact, there are probably all kinds of places within just a couple hours of your house that you haven’t taken the time to see and don’t know much about. Check them out, especially if you don’t want to travel too far away from home or you don’t have a lot of time for your vacation. You might be pleasantly surprised at what you find.
